The amendment includes new system grades, with significant modifications to Grade C and the replacement of Grades D and F with subcategories D1, D2, F1, and F2.
Revised Alarm System Grades:
Grade C – A fire detection system with alarm sounders, powered by both mains and a standby supply, controlled through a central unit.
Grade D1 – (For new builds and existing properties) Mains-powered detectors with a tamper-proof battery as a standby power source.
Grade D2 – Mains-powered detectors with a user-replaceable backup battery.
Grade F1 – Battery-powered detectors with a tamper-proof primary battery.
Grade F2 – Battery-powered detectors with a user-replaceable primary battery.
